West Fresno Middle School is located in Central West Fresno, and is one of two schools in the West Fresno School District. The middle school consists of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade classes. Students in the eighth grade are promoted to Washington Union High School. West Fresno Middle School has approximately 350 students, and is a Title I and II/USP school. West Fresno Middle School met their API goal with a 45-point increase. The principal has an open-door policy for parents, students, and staff.

West Fresno School District's Vision and Mission statement is that all district educators, students, parents, community, and business partners share a vision of all students successfully accomplishing the four performance goals established in our No Child Left Behind plan. Our mission is to organize and align all teaching and learning systems, so that we are united in accomplishing our educational goals within the timelines specified in our plan. We increase our knowledge of the standards in language arts, mathematics, and English Language Development, and improve our assessment and instructional practices. We will hold every student, teacher, administrator, and parent accountable for the academic success of all students in our school. We are determined to improve our school and classroom environments, to ensure the safety of all students and staff. Lastly, we are committed to the improvement of school, home, and community relations in order to make West Fresno School District our parents' school of choice.
